The Bay Area has never waited for permission. Hyphy didn't come from a boardroom. The whole independent movement out here was built by artists who pressed their own CDs, sold them out the trunk, and made the region impossible to ignore.
But the game changed. Today the gatekeepers are algorithms — and most independent artists don't have a platform of their own. They rent space on everyone else's.
That's why this blog exists. 33Ent is building its own media: artist spotlights, scene stories, release breakdowns, and the real business of independent music. No pay-to-play features. No watered-down coverage. Bay Area artists telling Bay Area stories.
